Multi-purpose audio demagnetizer [RD-3]

Did you know that a digital discs (CD and DVD) are magnetized? It is not possible to obtain correct information from a magnetized disc. Now you can experience a pure source sound of a disc demagnetized by using the RD-3

1. Measurement data of 1kHz signal

(Not only 1KHZ sine-wave but also other ranges of frequency are shown in the graph)

Before demagnetizing, peaks other than a sine-wave are generated at the 1kHz signal. We considered these peaks as noise or distortion. White blank fields at the 1kHz peak are considered to be caused by reading errors. The sideways peaks are considered to be the rise and fall of the sound becoming worse.

The multi-purpose audio demagnetizer RD-3 is an ground breaking appliance - easily treating and completely demagnetizing of all kinds of optical discs (CD, DVD, etc).

If you demagnetize your disc by RD-3, the sound and picture quality are much improved and you will be able to hear aspects of the recording that were inaudible from magnetized discs.

RD-3 also has a remarkable effect on digital recording media such as CD-R, DVD-R. If a disc is demagnetized by RD-3 before recording, the sound quality improves greatly regardless of the recording device or software.
For this reason, the RD-3 is widely used in the mastering rooms of major recording studios.

2. Measurement data of the music signal

With the post-demagnetization graph, the encircled areas, in the vicinity of 20 second in the range of 1 to 5Hz, it clearly shows filled in signal and increased crest height. The amount of information is therefore increased by demagnetization.

It is clear that you are now able to listen to sound that could not be heard before. The heights of the peaks also increase; it indicates that the respective ranges are extended.

At the PWL, value of RDYUMI is lowest, as noise is very low. And each peak level becomes raised when we confirm by analyzer, so demagnetizing a CD using the RD-III, increases the signal level and decreases noise. In addition, distortion decreases significantly. On the other hand, it shows that SNR becomes worse caused by generating static electricity or magnetism when the CD is demagnetized using by another product (imported product which uses a method of motor rotation).

4. The effects on CD-ROM

Before demagnetization, read value is 590KB/s with 65 points in total. After demagnetization, read value is 620KB/s with 69 points in total. Read value is greatly increased. The RD-3 therefore has great effects on CD-ROM.
Incidentally, with CD-ROM or RAM, there are occasionally cases where problems are caused while using discs, such as "It is not possible to read" and "It is not possible to write". It may be caused by the damaged surface of the disc or an inferior disc, but it is also caused by a magnetized disc in many cases. In these cases, it is possible that RD-3 can help to recover the disc.

5. The decrease of error rates

Describe about each Error code

  • It indicates that Error is corrected in the stage of either C1 or C2.
  • E11 It indicates that one Error is corrected in the stage of either C1 (it is possible to change with dust)
  • E21 It indicates that 2 Error are corrected in the stage of either C1
  • E31 It indicates that over 3 Error are corrected in the stage of either C1
    This error cannot be C1 corrected in the stage of either C1, it will be sent to C2
  • E12 It indicates that one Error is corrected in the stage of either C2 (it is possible to change with dust)
  • E22 It indicates that 2 Error are corrected in the stage of either C2
  • E32 It indicates that over 3 Error are corrected in the stage of either C2

Explanation
After demagnetization, the total of E22 and E32 decrease very much, which influences sound quality.

6. Summary

The effects of the RD-3 can be proven by data. You will recognize that the discs before demagnetization include noise and distortion, and some of them have sound discontinuity.

You cannot obtain perfect sound due to noise interference until you demagnetize discs using the RD-3.CD player. Amplifiers and loudspeakers cannot correct damaged signals, they simply process them.Do you use the RD-3? Or do you still put up with distorted sound and picture quality?
